Long stay period:
Most commonly, pilgrims come for a 2 or 3 day visit in order to get acquainted with our monastery, venerate the holy relics and icons, pray at the services, and confess and receive the Eucharist. Our monastery provides all pilgrims with meals and accommodation free of charge.
Some pilgrims wish to stay longer. The majority of our visitors do not desire monasticism. Though they may want to live a monastic life for some time, to experience it as a new world, or to get inspiration and support in challenging situations. Sometimes it happens that even if the situation does not change significantly, people acquire the grace of God, which helps them to overcome difficulties. People get their second wind and a feeling of pure happiness due to the fact that they could succeed through it all. The major help we render is spiritual. Основная помощь монастыря – духовная.
Sometimes women pilgrims wish to stay longer so that they could get used to the order of our monastery: observe the rules, take part in the obediences, and exercise the prayer rule. They want to change the atmosphere, prove themselves, and find out whether monasticism is their mission or not.
All pilgrims are dear guests to us. However, the majority of them voluntarily wish to help the monastery by their work, even if they come for a short period of time. They observe the obediences along with the sisters, cleaning the territory or the rooms of the convent, at the orchards or garden, or at the refectory, etc. It is an ancient tradition to help holy monasteries by your work and thus, repent, pray for something, and glorify God.
